Three things in a Building (as saith Vitruvius) ought to be consider∣ed, without which it will not deserve commendation: Those are usefulness or accommodation, lastingness and handsomness: For that work cannot be accounted perfect, which is useful but only for a short time, or not convenient for a longer or having these two, hath not also decency: It will be commodious, when every part hath its due place and fit scituation, not below its dignity, nor above what its use requires And they will be fitly disposed, when the Galleries, Halls, Chambers, Cellars, and Granaries are in their proper places.
